The Secret
Listen would you like to know a SECRET?... goes the old Beatles song.
Who doesn't want to know a SECRET, we almost salivate to know.
Hear the words of Jesus (He is ever revealing SECRETS to us)
"The knowledge of the SECRETS of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, "'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.' Luke 8:10
God reveals His SECRETS to His followers. How else would we know apart from His revelation.
The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant. Psalms 25:14
Knowing God's SECRETS doesn't mean that we are secretive, but we must treat a SECRET as a SECRET. Hoarding SECRETS would be a way of boasting and the sin of pride. Like what did we ever do to receive His Grace? Or what do we really have apart from Him? God entrusts His SECRETS to us. Everything that God produces has an element of mystery to it.
So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the SECRET things of God. 1 Corinthians 4:1
For Paul, Christ is God's SECRET now revealed.
in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, Colossians 2:9
What has happened to God's secret in the church? We have doctrinalized and systematized Jesus. He is a Person. He is the One who created all things, all things are for Him and He holds together the elements of the universe.
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:16-17
Paul message was one of revelation an labor.
My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, Galatians 4:19
An God offers His SECRET to all who will believe and follow. To discover that Christianity is actually "Christ in You" is the greatest SECRET of ALL time and the Father's provision for the Christian life.
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27
